Game Log - "the plan"

Week 2 – Day 4 ( evening )

At the school theater in the evening there was a special assembly to outline the plan that was being developed to deal with the ghost army in the ruins. The student council was hosting the meeting, but there were numerous teachers lurking about.

The group arrived a bit late. They found some seats just as the presentation was starting. The student president Kanade “Angel” Jingu explained the situation in her usual quiet but confident voice. “Reports of major ghost activity in the ruins have been confirmed. It looks like they are forming an army. Various religious groups have been contacted. But it does not look like any will move quickly. They each want to confirm the situation, and then talk with each other about how to proceed. No group is willing to take independent action. That is where we come in. Professor Snape knows a spell that should keep the ghosts contained until the religious groups can perform a proper final rest ceremony. However this spell will require a lot of casters and a lot of help.”

A map of the ruins and the nearly circular road that runs around it is projected behind Angel. “We need to set up 8 casting spots with at lest 2 mages each. Then we need 8 groups to draw lines from each spot to the next; a distance of about 1.5 km. The line drawing teams don’t need magic but they must be sure to get the lines done on time with no brakes in them.”

“The event will be held Sunday morning under the cover of being a school activity, a relay race. The road way will be closed to traffic for one hour. There will be some police and maybe curious onlookers. Several teams will be needed to distract them and ensure their safety.”

Angel paused for a moment then continued “We expect the ghosts to detect the magic energies as soon as the ritual starts. We expect they will attack the spell casters mostly, but the line runners must be ready for a fight too. Unfortunately normal attacks are useless against ghosts. We are looking for volunteers, especially those with powers which may affect the super natural.” She then opened up the floor for questions.

There was lively debate and some on the spot planning for the next hour before the meeting was called to a halt. “Everyone go home and think about it. Tomorrow morning there will be sign up sheets posted at the usual spots. If you have ideas, please write them down and drop them off at the council office.”
